  • The community-wide consultation regarding the implementation of a Wheat Information System will be open until February 16th
The results of this consultation will be analysed in a report commissioned within the framework of the Wheat Initiative proposal (previously International Research Initiative for Wheat Improvement) adopted by the Agriculture Ministers during the G20 meeting in June 2011. 1) Please forward this link to your collaborators to ensure that the results of the survey are representative of the whole research community, and 2) It takes only 5-10 minutes to answer. • INPPO reviewed in a recent publication
Weckwerth W (2011) Green systems biology - From single genomes, proteomes and metabolomes to ecosystems research and biotechnology. J Proteomics 75: 284-305. (open access - http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1874391911003290).This article explains the foundations of Green Systems Biology and presents an iterative workflow to investigate the genotype-phenotype-map in plant ecology, evolution and biotechnology. International research networks, especially INPPO, are introduced and their importance is discussed. The socio-economic relevance of these research fields is further discussed.
  • Joint MASCP/INPPO plant proteomics workshop at the ICAR 2012 (http://www.icar2012.org/)
The 23rd International Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR) will be held at the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna, Austria from 3-7 July 2012. The annual conference is the largest gathering of scientists working on the model plant Arabidopsis. Over 800 participants from around the world are expected to attend the four day meeting. We would like to invite all interested researchers to join us in one of Europe's most beautiful cities for this exciting event. With over 70 invited international speakers and more than 500 posters, ICAR 2012 will showcase the latest cutting-edge research. Besides plenary sessions about newest developments in Plant OMICS and Bioinformatics sciences a Plant Proteomics Workshop will be organized by members of MASCP and INPPO.
  • We would appreciate any suggestions/ comments from the scientific community on any aspect of the INPPO website designing to further improve its visibility and/or contents. Thank you for your cooperation and support. Contact Abhijit Sarkar at contactinppo@gmail.com or Raj Agrawal at rajaanova@gmail.com.
  • A Special Issue on Plant Proteomics in the JOURNAL OF PROTEOMICS (JOP) [Volume 74, Issue 8, Pages 1161-1482 (12 August 2011) Plant Proteomics in Europe, Edited by Jenny Renaut, Birte Svensson, Jesus Jorrin-Novo, and Bart Panis] is now available at http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/ 18743919/74/8. In October 2007, the COST action FA0603 "Plant Proteomics in Europe or EUPP" was launched and held in Munich. This special issue reports on much of the progress and reflects the current situation of plant proteomics at least in Europe.
  • As one of the INPPO initiatives to network with different scientific and non-scientific organizations, it is hearting to know that we have made a progress with MASCP (http://www.masc-proteomics.org/mascp/ index.php/Main_Page) as quoted "Represent Arabidopsis proteomics interests as representatives of the International Plant Proteomics Organization (INPPO) http://www.masc-proteomics.org/mascp/ index.php/Goals". INPPO will continue working in this direction to strengthen bonds with MASCP.
